What a super time we had last week! I am not sure if the children were more excited to register at the Corn Exchange or to put their space suits on, climb into their personal rockets and zoom to Mars. It all caused a lot of excitement which was lovely to see.

After arriving at Mars children explored, listened to the sounds, soaked up the atmosphere and tracked down the funny crater with a smiley face. We were lucky to listen to a story and rhymes from Mary from Dorchester Library before heading upstairs to listen to space expert Bob. I was so proud of how well the children listened to Bob, looked carefully at his artefacts and showed off their knowledge from the last few weeks. I think some of them could give him a run for the job!

Huge thanks to the parents who were able to help, particularly at the last minute!

Sadly we missed a lot of children and hope everyone is better soon. If you get the chance Mars is now open to the public for two more days.

Monday 14 March – 1pm – 9pm

Tuesday 15 March – 1pm – 5pm

It will be me tomorrow so I look forward to seeing some of you then and wish all our friends at home a speedy recovery.

  1. Willow was so upset that she missed her school trip to Mars! It sounds like the children had a lovely time 🙂
