We had a great discussion in class about ways we can all help to protect our planet. The children came up with the idea of making an environment pledge for 2023.
What will you pledge to do in 2023 to help to protect our planet? It could just be one idea.
Ideas include:
Going on a litter pick every week or month at a beach, your road or in the countryside. You can hire out FREE Litter Picking Equipment from Dorchester Town Council https://www.litterfreedorset.co.uk/get-involved/join-a-group-near-you/#west-dorset Also you can find out where orgainsed Litter Picking days are taking place too at West Bay, Bridport, Weymouth, Lulworth Cove. You might even see Mr Moore down at West Bay taking part too! All the groups and the people leading them are very friendly. They all really welcome families and childrne taking part.
Recycle, making sure things go in the right bins. No wish recycling
Reduce what you use.
Reuse items and make them in to something else like plant pots.
Grow your own food.
Take something to the Repair Cafe in Dorchester http://transitiontowndorchester.org/repair-cafe/
Encourage your parents to buy loose vegetables and fruit instead of items in a plastic bag.
Refuse single use plastic
Bike, Scooter and walk those short distances.
Turn off the lights when not in use.
We look forward to hearing what your environment pledges will be for 2023.
