This week, Skipper 2 has learned all about the history of Notting Hill Carnival. We discovered that it was first started by a lady called Claudia Jones, to celebrate Caribbean culture in London and has since grown to be the biggest street party in Europe! We watched some videos of Mrs Hardisty performing in Carnival with her old school and couldn’t believe how much she has aged (!!) We made our own carnival-inspired headdresses and paraded around the playground to some brilliant Soca music.
